TMC and Global Leadership Excellence announce partnership with complementary tools to help businesses become globally ready
Princeton, NJ (May 3, 2013) Global Leadership Excellence LLC (GLE) and TMC, a Berlitz Company, announce today a partnership in which TMC will now offer GLE's Global Competence Aptitude Assessment (GCAA)® as a complementary tool to its Cultural NavigatorTM. The GCAA® is an assessment tool designed to identify an individual's likelihood to succeed in a global context.
"When used in conjunction with TMC's Cultural NavigatorTM, individuals, teams and organizations can pinpoint opportunity areas for ‘global competence' development and work towards improvement through a series of Communication, Culture and Leadership skill development experiences," said Mr. Ken Belanger, Managing Director, TMC. "This approach gives organizations and managers quantitative insights to prioritize developmental needs, so that individual and organizational training efforts are effectively supporting talent development in order to effectively execute global business strategies."
The Cultural NavigatorTM provides timely information and insights to a wide range of global business and cultural topics important for businesses of all sizes looking to expand overseas in support of critical business performance objectives including:
- Creation of business models in emerging markets
- Innovation with a market/customer focus
- Attraction, development, retention, and deployment of global talent
- Reducing the incidence of assignment failure in international postings
- Addressing culture-based issues that interfere with productivity and job satisfaction
- Helping to effectively manage multicultural teams
- Leverage employee mobility and diversity/inclusion as competitive assets
"The GCAA® provides objective diagnostic metrics as to individual or group global competence aptitude and it indicates appropriate areas for development to help businesses become globally ready," said Ms. Christi Hunter, Chief Executive Officer of GLE. "We are pleased to partner with TMC as their training programs offer solutions to support such assessment insights."
Using eight distinct scales, it serves as an indicator of the level of both Internal and External Readiness. This provides a sound developmental perspective and individual benchmark for subsequent training development programs. There is cross-referencing throughout the GCAA® as each of the eight dimensions of global competence is evaluated from a variety of angles, using different styles of questions, and varying degrees of difficulty. Additionally, the assessment items are based on all the regions of the world, with particular emphasis placed on those countries that make significant contributions to the world's population and economy. The result is a more complete measure of global competence.
