Berlitz Schools of Languages is with 146 years of experience one of the leading providers worldwide for language training. In the Benelux, Berlitz currently has 5 language centers; 4 in the Netherlands and 1 in Luxembourg. For this region we are looking for a talented Finance Payroll Administrator to work in our growing team.

You will be a part of a regional accounting team, and be responsible for the overall accounting process of the 4 schools in The Netherlands. The position will have plenty of room to grow, so we are looking for an ambitious person who would like to be part of this journey.


Ownership and management of the Finance and Accounting as well as the Payroll Administration of the 4 Language Centers in The Netherlands. You will be involved in everyday processes, workflows, the monthly financial reporting and annual closing processes. You will be working closely with the Regional Director, Finance Manager Nordics and the CFO of the group. 

The position is a full-time employment in the Netherlands in one of the language centers in the Randstad ( Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague) with the possibility to work hybrid.  


  • Monthly closing and preparation of monthly financial reports; 
  • Payroll administration (preparation of salaries, updates, communication); 
  • Accounting; 
  • Cash flow forecast; 
  • Forecasting and budgeting; 
  • Responsibility for internal control, policies; 
  • Documentation of financial processes; 
  • Yearly closing; 
  • Contact with auditors and preparation of annual report; 
  • VAT declarations to Tax Authorities. 
  • Banking via incoming and outgoing payments;

Specifically, we are looking for someone who is/has: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 3 years professional experience
  • Fluent in Dutch ( minimum C1 level), knowledge of French is a plus; 
  • High proficiency in both written and spoken English. 
  • Expertise in Dutch Payroll is a must.
  • Up to date with local payroll laws and legislations of The Netherlands to ensure compliancy;
  • Able to work independently and drive issues to conclusion; 
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 
  • Able to work well in a team environment; 
  • Experience with SalesForce, VISMA.NET, Loket; 
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
