The Berlitz Test of Writing Skills is a language proficiency test that accurately measures the writing skills of employees or applicants in a workplace or other institutional setting. It is available in 11 languages, including 3 that can also be administered in a computer-based format.
The test is designed for organizations, international corporations, government agencies, and other institutions throughout the world for use in recruitment, staff training and development, and benchmarking processes.

- Task Fulfillment: Assesses the individual’s understanding of task instructions and ability to fulfill the task’s requirements, including use of an audience-appropriate style of language.
- Idea Organization: Assesses the ability to plan text following a conventional structure, organize text using cohesive devices, and group and present ideas with supporting information.
- Language Use: Assesses ability to use appropriate vocabulary, syntax, and spelling.
- Grammatical Accuracy: Assesses ability to use appropriate grammar and sentence structure.
