CEF stands for Common European Framework, which was created by the Council of Europe, and is a standardized system to measure language competency on a six point scale (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2). The scale starts at A1 for beginners and goes through to C2 which represents those who have fully mastered a language.

The course will take place in a Berlitz language center unless you’re undertaking a corporate language class in which case we may come to your office - when possible. Alternatively, you may choose to study through the Berlitz Virtual Classroom - where live instruction is available online from anywhere.

Sure, with a private language lesson you can study up to 40 lessons in just 1 week. Alternatively, you can spread out your language lessons over a longer period if you need too.

In addition to your weekly lessons, it’s recommended that you also complete 1 hour per week of home study to maximize your learning outcomes.

Once you sign up for a Berlitz language course, we will assess your language proficiency and indicate the right language program for your needs and goals. Prior to the course you can also test your current level with our online placement test which is available to test your language skills in English, German, French, Italian and Spanish.

Cyberteachers is a license for an e-learning (self-paced) study program where you learn at your own pace and in your own time. Berlitz Virtual Classroom consists of online live instruction with a trainer and can either be conducted as a private class or in a group with other students from around the world.

That entirely depends on the program you select. Our private classes are available with 1 to 1 instruction. Our semi-private classes consist of a maximum of 2-3 students and in order to maximize speaking time we maintain our group classes with a maximum of 7-10 students.
