Incredible things happen to children when they learn a foreign language. Their confidence and cognitive abilities can improve, and they develop their social skills as well. Above all, our private language instruction for children helps kids and teens improve their language skills and their school results. They also prepare them for future projects like study abroad programs or integration into an international school.

Private language lessons for kids with a Berlitz instructor help students become global citizens, building compassion through understanding the languages, values, traditions, and customs of others.

Our tutors are highly trained, fluent native speakers who are dedicated to working with children. Our instructor will work one to one with your child to build critical speaking and listening skills, using a conversational approach and age-appropriate materials to engage them. It is also possible to work on the student's material chosen by the parents (and to adapt the program to the topics needed at school like grammar and/or written expression). Children and teens can take private language lessons for kids in several Berlitz language centers across France for teens over 12 years:

For higher flexibility, children can also learn a language with Berlitz's online classes for kids and teens.

  • Contact your local language center.
  • Let us know your kid's needs and goals.
  • Get a personalized language learning path.
  • Meet our native-fluent instructors, who specialize in working with children.
  • Choose from our face-to-face classes and online courses.
  • Watch your kid have fun and achieve their language goals.

The time needed to complete a language course varies based on your child's availability, language level and goals. In general, we recommend starting with 10 lessons, and continuing with the classes until your kid reaches their desired results.

Learning with our immersive Berlitz Method means that the instructor will only speak to your child in their target language from the very first language class. This means that your kid can absorb the nuances of the language and will be able to communicate in real-life situations.

Kids can start learning a language by making it part of their everyday lives. To practice languages, they can:

  • Watch cartoons and TV shows for kids in their target language.
  • Listen to in-language podcasts targeted at beginner-level language learners.
  • Learn songs in their target language.
  • Learn the names of everyday objects in their desired language and point them out when they see them.

For a more structured way of learning, they can also take language classes for children at our different centers in France. We offer in-person and online courses in a private setting. Contact us for more details.
