Learning English in the mornings and taking in the sun, beach, and sea in the afternoons. Sounds good, doesn’t it? Then it’s off to our Berlitz Camp on the stunning North Sea island of Norderney! Our accommodation is in a modern youth center near the beach and the town of Norderney.
English learning made easy with the Berlitz method
Whether it’s doing projects on topics kids are passionate about, exciting debates or writing a camp diary, the Norderney Berlitz Camp is all about speaking freely and expanding vocabulary. And fun is the main feature!
Our Norderney language camp combines fun with learning English, all according to our tried-and-tested Berlitz method: learning by speaking. Our language training includes:
- 4 x 45-minute lessons five mornings a week,
- Learning in small groups to encourage active speaking.
Our experienced counselors motivate kids and teens to speak the camp language as much as possible – both in class and during the leisure program in the afternoons.
Learning by speaking: English and fun in the sun on Norderney
Learning English while building sand castles or playing foosball – all that and more at our Berlitz English camp on the North Sea island of Norderney. The team will speak English with the kids throughout both the morning classes and the afternoon leisure program. The advantage of the Berlitz method: because kids focus fully on actively using the language, they immerse themselves in it and improve their language skills without even realizing. It’s only a matter of time before they’ll be speaking the foreign language naturally with both counselors and other kids.
Beach activities are the order of the day during afternoons at our Berlitz language camp on Norderney: from swimming to beach volleyball, water balloon fights to sandcastle competitions – there’s something for everyone here. There is also action on the water: SUP, surfing and kayaking is possible on various afternoons.
On some dates there is even the possibility to learn sailing or foiling! Those who stay for two weeks can even take a sailing course including a sailing license. And if you're wondering what foiling is, it's best to try out the trendy sport, which combines surfing, kiting and windsurfing, right away!
During a mudflat hike or a visit to the seal banks, it's animalistic: we discover the inhabitants of the mudflats while our feet sink into the mud or watch the seals chill out in the sun.
The accommodation has plenty of sporty activities like table tennis, foosball, or basketball. Our counselors offer workshops for all those budding artists: examples include building kites, or making jewelry. Or we’ll draw a portrait with just one line, no stopping allowed! It’s guaranteed to be exciting!
Our rallies are also very popular: Who can solve the tasks at the various stations the fastest?
We even keep up the fun in the evenings with our group program. For example, we might organize a cozy barbecue evening, camp party, or a movie night in the in-house Klipper theater. Another highlight is our group night hikes on the beach.
Important: The offered activities are designed by the team depending on the weather, preferences of the group and possibility - therefore the program may vary.

Arrive and feel right at home in our accommodation
Our participants will be accommodated in shared rooms – girls and boys separately – with modern facilities. The Klipper youth center features a bright dining room, cozy lounge, and a whole bunch of common rooms where you can play games like foosball. The Klipper theater, a group room with large screen, is perfect for long movie nights. The outdoor area also leaves nothing to be desired: kids can chill out in wicker beach chairs and other seating areas, and sports fans can let off steam on the soccer field, beach volleyball field, basketball court, at the table tennis table, or on the slackline.
Norderney: beach, dunes, and so much more
Our modern accommodation is close to the harbor and beach, as well as to Norderney town center with its many shops, bars, and restaurants. From here, kids can explore the island, which consists of almost 70 percent beach and dunes, to their hearts’ content. Not to mention Wadden Sea National Park is perfect for mudflat hikes.

At our holiday camp, the focus is on your kids. Our qualified counselors are there for the kids and teens all day long – from the morning lessons to the varied leisure program in the afternoons and evenings.
In accordance with the Berlitz method of "learning by speaking", our focus is on speaking the foreign language all day long. But don’t worry: at each of our camps, a German-speaking camp director is always on-hand for the kids and available by phone for all parents.
All the fun and action at our Berlitz language camp also includes good food. The first day starts with dinner. On all other camp days, kids can look forward to three meals – all prepared for us by our accommodation provider in Norderney. For lunch, kids either get to pick their own food from a buffet, a hot lunch, or a packed lunch to go.
We’ll try our hardest to cater to kids with allergies, intolerances, or special diets. If applicable, please contact us before booking.
Arrival day overview: We’ll be welcoming all parents and kids on the first day of camp. The exact time for arrival can be found in the travel information sent to all participants before the camp starts. The meet-and-greet allows our Berlitz team and the participants to get to know one another. Parents can ask the team any questions they may have. In our welcome package, kids and teens will receive a practical gym bag, lunch box, and notebook. After a short placement, the camp really gets going.
Departure information: After a joint farewell for both counselors and participants, parents will be able to pick up their kids. Parents can find the exact pick-up time in the travel documents sent out before camp starts. Please arrive on time, as our counselors will also be leaving that day. The certificate of participation and Camp Magazine & Co. will be sent to the kids afterwards.
