English Camp in Harz Mountains

Wurmberg, Harzer-Hexen-Stieg, and spruce forests: What sounds more difficult than many an English vocabulary are localities in the heart of the beautiful Harz Mountains. This is where our Berlitz holiday camp Braunlage takes place. And from here we discover the unique nature – and improve our English by the way. Are you ready?

Finally speaking English thanks to the Berlitz Method

In our varied lessons, we talk exclusively in English. This guarantees quick success. Our language camp also scores with many games and sports in the afternoon so learning doesn’t feel like learning at all!

Our language camp in Braunlage is proof that language learning can be really fun. This applies both to the interactive lessons in the morning and to the many leisure activities in the afternoon, where we speak English naturally after a short familiarization time. Let’s do it!

  • Lessons in the mornings (5 days a week, 4 x 45 minutes each), and
  • Learning in small groups according to the Berlitz method ("learning by speaking")

The Berlitz team will assign kids to learning groups according to their age and language level on the day of arrival. This ensures that all kids benefit from the best possible learning environment.

Learning by speaking: English and leisure fun in Braunlage

The impressive mountain landscape of the Harz Mountains offers something for everyone: hiking trails, reservoirs, and caves as well as the possibility of swimming, climbing, and much more make the region in northern Germany a paradise for nature and sports fans. What exactly we do also depends on the weather. One thing is certain: Memories and friendships for life are made here.

Typical activities in our holiday camp in Harz Mountains include:

At the Harz summer camp, we experience a colorful program every day. Those who like sports can really let off steam with table tennis, ball sports, and team games, among other things. Or how about a discovery tour through the breathtaking nature? Excursions into the surrounding area are also on the agenda.

In the evening it’s getting really fun and exciting: At the disco evening, we first get our dancing legs going and then our brains going at the pub quiz. Here we test the knowledge from completely different ranges. Another highlight is the night hike, where we explore the forest in the dark. Scary, isn’t it?

Also in the program: a barbecue evening where we enjoy delicious food together. Real nature fans can go on an exploration tour with a nature park ranger and learn many exciting details about the animal and plant world. An absolute must for all: the city rally! 30 tricky questions lead the kids through the whole town. Orientation skills are in demand on the GPS tour. Who thinks they can find the way?

The actual leisure activities offered depend on dates, weather and availability and may vary.

Additional information

Having qualified counselors is the be-all and end-all at our Braunlage language camp. Our counselors come from different countries, including England, Mexico, France, the US, and Austria. They have plenty of experience in looking after kids.

In addition to the lessons in the mornings, they are responsible for organizing the recreational activities in the afternoons and evenings. What makes us stand out: our counselors speak to kids in the foreign language all day long and motivate them to use the foreign language as much as possible. That’s what makes learning fun!

Our ultimate goal: kids should feel completely at home at our Berlitz language camp. In addition to playing, having fun, and making new friends, that also includes good meals, three times a day. All three meals a day are prepared at the accommodation. Drinks like juice, tea, and water are provided with meals. Kids should bring a reusable water bottle to keep them hydrated between meals.

We also aim to offer alternatives for vegetarians, those with allergies, or kids who require special diets. Please be sure to contact us before booking!

The first camp day: You will get the exact arrival times with the travel information send to you before the start of the camp. In a common greeting, kids will receive their welcome package and get to know the counselor team and other participants. Everyone is welcome to ask any questions they may have at the special parents’ welcome session. In order to place them in the right learning group, we will do a short placement with the kids, based on a few short written and oral questions.

On the day of departure, kids can be picked up after the joint farewell for all camp participants. Please be on time, as the entire Berlitz team will also be leaving. After camp, we will send you the camp magazine and, of course, a certificate of participation.

Then take a look at our kids camp FAQ page where we have gathered further information.

We will also send you further details regarding the pack list, arrival and departure etc. by e-mail after your booking.
