Culture, creativity, and learning English: Leipzig city language camp

A place that stands for culture, creativity, and history like no other: Welcome to Leipzig. And not just anywhere, but right in the centre of Saxony’s largest city. Because this is where the Berlitz Language Camp Leipzig City is located - our ideal starting point for discovering a city full of diversity. You simply have to experience it.

Improving English skills at Leipzig citylanguage camp with Berlitz

Learning English during the school break? That’s not a problem with our Berlitz English camps! Unlike school lessons, the aim here is not to teach as much material and grammar as possible. We use the Berlitz method of "learning by speaking", i.e. as much active speaking as possible.

We offer kids:

  • Lessons five mornings a week (4 x 45 minutes each)
  • Kids are encouraged to actively use English in small groups

Our holiday camp in Leipzig city combines English lessons in the mornings with a varied leisure program in the afternoons. During lessons, the focus is on creativity: for example, kids will write content for our camp magazine, draw and describe their own pictures, or act out fairy tales in English. That way, we teach kids to enjoy the foreign language through play.

On the day of arrival, we’ll assign kids to learning groups according to their age and previous knowledge.

Experience culture and adventure in Leipzig City

Boredom is definitely not an option at our Berlitz language camp in Leipzig City. The leisure programme for the camp week is individually planned by our international Berlitz team - adapted to the weather, the group, and the special talents of the counselors.

A place of learning and amazement: that’s Leipzig Zoo. Whether majestic elephants or colorful birds - together we discover the fascinating animals from all over the world. By the way: the zoo is one of the most species-rich in Europe. And the best thing is that kids can not only watch, but also actively participate. There are exciting shows, interactive feedings, and much more. A piece of wilderness in the middle of the city!

The Panometer is a special kind of exhibition house. Historical city views and exotic landscapes come to life on a huge panoramic surface. Added to this are the impressive background noises, music recordings and light simulations. In short: a spectacle that is guaranteed to stay in your memory.

We not only immerse ourselves in exciting worlds, but also in cool water. The Schönefeld summer pool offers unlimited bathing fun in good weather. An adventure pool, slides, and a large themed playground with climbing elements ensure that every child gets their money’s worth here. So make sure you pack your swimming gear!

Did you know? Leipzig University’s Botanical Garden is the oldest of its kind in Germany. Sure, we have to discover it with its numerous plant species. The total of 363 plant families represent over 65 percent of all known families worldwide - a paradise for nature lovers!

Very important: even during the leisure program, kids and counselors will continue to speak English to each other. And just like that, kids will lose their fear of speaking and absorb everyday vocabulary – all in a fun, playful way, for example during the popular city rally.

In the heart of the city: this is our accommodation

Our accommodation is located not far from the city center, right in the heart of the vibrant city. Despite its exclusive location, the accommodation impresses with its comfort and coziness. A retreat to which you will want to return after an eventful day.

Children can try out a wide range of activities in and around the hostel: table football and table tennis are at our disposal, as are board games and an outdoor playground. This means that in addition to action-packed activities, the kids also have plenty of opportunities to relax and unwind.

Green in the city

So close to the city and yet still relaxing: the many green spaces in the surrounding area ensure this. And, of course, the activities that are in harmony with nature: A visit to the zoo, botanical gardens and co. What a place!

Additional information

"Let’s speak English" – that’s the motto we follow at the Leipzig Berlitz Camp. Our experienced counselors are at the kids’ side all day long. Both during lessons that take place in small groups in the mornings and during the fun and action in the afternoons and evenings. Our focus: to ensure all kids speak English all day long.

The best proof of the success of our Berlitz concept: many counselors were camp participants themselves in the past and support us year after year!

Providing the best all-round support at our Berlitz language camps is important to us. That also includes a balanced diet. Kids will receive three meals a day and these include drinks like juice, tea, or water. Please pack a reusable water bottle, so that your child can fill it up in between meals.

We try our best to offer alternatives for kids with special requests, such as vegetarians or those with allergies. Please contact our team before booking so that we can discuss this on a one-on-one basis.

How we start: Camp starts on the first day at the time mentioned in the travel information (sent to all participants before camp start). Together with their parents, kids will be able to get to know our team and other participants and take part in a parents’ welcome session. All kids will receive our welcome package, which consists of a gym bag, lunch box, T-shirt, and much more. We use a written and oral placement to place kids in the right learning group. With younger kids, we often just talk briefly about their hobbies and everyday life.

Important departure information: Parents can pick up their kids on the day of departure. You will find out exactly when in the camp travel documents. Unfortunately, it is not possible to pick kids up at a later time, as our team will also be leaving. We will send all camp documents, including a certificate of participation, to the participants afterwards.

Then take a look at our kids camp FAQ page where we have gathered further information.

We will also send you further details regarding the pack list, arrival and departure etc. by e-mail after your booking.
